Plate heat exchangers can be used for sterilization: The processed material first enters the equalization tank, then is pumped into the heat exchanger via a centrifugal sanitary pump. It then undergoes preheating, sterilization, insulation, and cooling. Any material that has not reached the sterilization temperature is diverted by an instrument-controlled pneumatic return valve and returned to the equalization tank for reprocessing. The sterilization temperature is automatically controlled and continuously recorded by an instrument control box, allowing monitoring and inspection of the sterilization process.
