The instruments of the heat exchanger unit are mainly used to monitor and control the parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc. during the heat exchange, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. Common instruments include temperature sensors, pressure gauges, flow meters, level gauges, etc. In addition, there may also instruments for controlling valves and pumps, such as temperature regulators, pressure regulators, flow regulators, etc.

 

The following are the common instruments in the heat exchanger unit and their functions

 

1.Temperature instrument:

  • Temperature sensor: Used to measure the temperature of the inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger, the cold and hot media, and convert it an electrical signal transmitted to the control system.
  • Temperature regulator: Automatically adjust the valve opening according to the set temperature range, to control the temperature.

 

2.Pressure gauges:

  • Pressure gauge: Used to display the working pressure of equipment such as heat exchangers, pipelines, and pumps.
  • Pressure regulator: Automatically adjust the valve opening to keep the pipeline pressure within the set range.

 

3.Flow meter:

  • Flow meter: Used to measure the flow of coolant and hot medium, ensuring the normal operation of the heat exchanger.

 

4.Level instrument:

  • Level gauge: Used to monitor the liquid level of equipment such as water tanks and expansion tanks, to prevent water shortage or overflow.

 

5.Control instrument:

  • Controller: responsible for receiving various instrument signals, performing data processing, and controlling the operation of actuators (such as valves, pumps).
  • DCS (Distributed Control System): Used for centralized monitoring and control of the entire heat exchanger unit.
  • Frequency converter: Used to control the speed of the water pump, to achieve energy-saving operation.

 

6.Other instruments:

  • Safety valve: Used to prevent pipeline overpressure and protect equipment safety.
  • Filter: Used to filter impurities in the medium, protecting equipment.
  • Calorimeter: Used to measure the heat of refrigerant and heat carrier, to calculate the heat exchange.
