The clamping bolts of the plate heat exchanger are key components used to tighten the clamping plate and ensure that the plate group and the sealing gasket fit tightly. Their main functions, structural characteristics, material selection and maintenance requirements are as follows:
The axial force generated by tightening the bolts causes the fixed clamping plate and the movable clamping plate to apply uniform pressure to the plate group, compressing the sealing gasket to achieve sealing of the fluid channel between the plates and prevent medium leakage.
Maintain the stability of the overall structure of the plate heat exchanger to ensure that the plate group will not loosen or deform due to internal pressure under working pressure and temperature.
Structural features
Usually high-strength bolts, the length of which needs to match the plate pack thickness of the heat exchanger and the size of the clamping plate, to ensure that it can completely penetrate the clamping plate and provide sufficient tightening stroke.
There are threads at both ends of the bolt, one end is fixed with a nut, and the other end may be connected to the threaded hole of the fixed clamping plate, or tightened by a double nut structure.
Some bolts are equipped with washers to disperse the clamping force and protect the surface of the clamping plate from damage.
