A coil heat exchanger is a heat exchange device that uses a coil structure to transfer heat between two or more fluids, and it is an important type of indirect heat exchanger.​Its core structure consists of coils (usually made of bent metal tubing such as copper, stainless steel, or titanium alloy), a shell (or container), and fluid inlet and outlet pipes.During operation, one fluid flows inside the coil, while another fluid flows in the shell side (or container space) outside the coil, utilizing the thermal conductivity of the coil wall.It enables heat exchange between hot and cold fluids to achieve process objectives such as heating, cooling, condensation, or evaporation.

Condensation and evaporation.In refrigeration, chemical and other fields, coil heat exchangers can be used as condensers or evaporators.As steam flows outside the coil, the cooling medium inside the coil carries away the heat from the steam, causing it to condense into a liquid state.Conversely, the liquid working fluid absorbs heat inside the pipe and evaporates into vapor, providing power for the refrigeration cycle.

Waste heat recovery Industrial production processes generate a large amount of low-temperature waste heat.
