How to properly clean a fully automatic heat exchanger unit?

In fact, whether it is a fully automatic heat exchange unit or other mechanical equipment, cleaning is a very important part of maintenance.Cleaning unattended heat exchange units is not limited to cleaning the surface of the equipment. The interior of the fully automatic heat exchanger unit also needs to be cleaned. The following three methods are typically used when cleaning PLC fully automatic heat exchange units.

Countercurrent flushing method:It is generally used during operation or short-term parking, and the device does not need to be disassembled. However, a countercurrent bypass line must be pre-installed on the equipment. This method is more useful when the scaling is not severe.

High-pressure water jet flushing method:Different rotating water gun heads can be selected for different heat exchangers; they can be rigid. It is also flexible, with pressure freely adjustable from 10MPa to 200MPa.High-pressure water cleaning is suitable for cleaning both between pipes, inside pipes, and in the shell. High-pressure water jets are effective and widely used for flushing heat exchangers.

Chemical cleaning method:Close the valves for cooling water entering and exiting the condenser, and use a thermometer tube, pressure gauge tube, or drain pipe to connect the anti-corrosion pump and the liquid mixing tank to form a small circulation system for circulating cleaning.First, add the pickling corrosion inhibitor. This agent is a special copper corrosion inhibitor. It adheres to the inner metal wall of the condenser to prevent the acid from reacting with the metal.Adding solid acid cleaning agent is used to clean limescale, which is mainly composed of calcium carbonate. The cleaning agent is a complex solid organic acid, a white crystal, which is non-corrosive to metals and is a weak acid; the amount of cleaning agent used depends on the amount of scale buildup on the equipment.Add a scale remover (optional). If the condenser has a thick layer of scale, a scale remover needs to be added. It promotes the rapid dissolution of the products generated after the scale reaction in water, thus accelerating the reaction of deep scale.Adding a neutralizing and passivating agent neutralizes residual acid after chemical cleaning of the condenser, preventing oxidation of the metal surface and the formation of secondary rust.

So, some people may ask, how often should the fully automatic heat exchanger be cleaned? actually,The cleaning cycle for intelligent heat exchange units is not fixed.Factors such as the degree of scaling in the heat exchanger, equipment operating conditions, heat exchange efficiency, and production water consumption need to be considered comprehensively.Generally, if the equipment operates stably and the heat exchange efficiency does not decrease significantly, it can be cleaned every six months to a year.If a decrease in heat exchange efficiency or significant scaling is detected, cleaning is necessary in advance. In industrial production, heating heat exchange units are continuously operating equipment, so they need to be inspected and cleaned regularly to ensure their normal operation and heat exchange efficiency.
